Last night was our last rehearsal at Smash. Showed up to find a Steinway grand piano had been moved into the room.
I broke it.
I really didn't mean to but the pedals came flying off. First maracas, then accordions and now a grand piano.......what's next?
Why is it that 75% of the people I deal with in NYC's "music industry" are complete assholes? Is it REALLY necessary for the owner of our rehearsal studio (Smash) to bitch me out on the phone for 20 minutes about cancelling a rehearsal two days in advance? Let's count how many thousands of dollars have been sucked out of me in the past two years at this place where you're lucky if the gear actually works (or in multiple cases, is actually THERE). And I couldn't argue back with the jerk because he has my frickin' credit card number and I can't afford to just suck up the charge for the night so I had to play Miss Apologetic and take his condescending rant instead. Anyone have a good revenge idea? I can't let this one go and all I can come up with is along the stink bomb lines.......
Oh no, nonononononono
It's only just begun. Last night was just a preview.
We are thrilled to announce that we are officially selected for the Hard Rock Cafe BIG BATTLE of the bands.
This one goes national.
And I got a bone to pick, my friends.
It begins November 13th
Same time.
Same place.
Six weeks and three days.
Training begins now.
BRING IT.
We won.
It feels good.
I like winning.
More winning, please.
Yes, one order of WIN, coming right up...... :)
Woke up with a serious stomache ache.
Am convincing self is not nerves but instead excitement over the imminent destruction tonight.
