Am super duper excited for road trip (or should I say, Rhode trip, hehe) tomorrow to Providence to play with my favorite band World Inferno Friendship Society. They don't know this but I moshed for the first time in my life at one of their shows a coupla years ago (I am afraid of most mosh pits believe it or not.....I know, lame.) They have an awesome accordionist (Franz) and I was in the mosh pit screaming like an idiot "YAY, ACCORDIOOOOOON!!! YEAH!!!!! ACCOOOOOOOORDION!!!! WOOOOOOO!!!! WOOOOOOO!!!!!"
I think he thought I was retarded.

Was waiting for the subway on the 34th Street platform today. One of my favorite accordionists (an old Russian man) was playing on the platform, the passerbys were clearly enjoying it, when these two NYPD cops come up to him and ask if had a permit to play it.
He said no and they made him leave.
What?
Since when do you need a frickin' PERMIT to play an instrument?
Thank GOD those cops are on top of keeping the subways safe.....how about keeping an eye out for TERRORISTS instead of ACCORDIONISTS there, pals.
Whatever.

Just went to pick up our new press shot and the printer fucked it all up with white splotches on the faces so it looks like everyone has severe eczema. I started laughing and asked the guy,
"Dude, do you see anything wrong with this picture?"
"No."
"OK, look at my face. Great. Now look at my face in the picture. See? See the difference? See how my face right here in front of you looks pretty clear?"
"Uh, yeah."
"Now look at the picture again. The face in the picture LOOKS DISEASED. OK? DISEASED. And it's funny how the guys in the band ALSO LOOK DISEASED. This is a press shot, OK? This is supposed to make people LIKE us, make people think we LOOK GOOD. This picture right now would make me want to RUN AWAY from us."
Sigh. They're being reprinted.

THE BASICS:
If you're gonna tour, you need a van.
Otherwise, you are reduced to calling your Dad in NJ to ask to borrow his Jeep to get you and the band and your gear to the gig in Rhode Island this Saturday night.
Then, when he says he actually NEEDS his car, you are reduced to calling your Mom who lives even FURTHER away in NJ to ask if you can borrow her mini-van.
I haven't made that call yet.
Why do I suddenly feel like I'm 15?
And where am I gonna find a car this weekend?
Life is SOOOO unfair.

OK, I just got back from a much needed vacation (4 whole days!) and wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year before business gets me crabby and mean again.
